Introducing Initi8 Ready: Preparing People for Work—Before the First Day
Starting a job can be exciting, but for many individuals with disabilities, it can also feel overwhelming. Too often, people are expected to succeed at work without ever being taught how work actually works. That’s where Initi8 Ready begins.
Initi8 Ready is a workforce readiness program designed to help individuals with disabilities learn, practice, and prepare for employment before they step into a job. Instead of rushing placement, we focus on preparation, confidence, and long-term success.
Why Initi8 Ready Matters
Employment should not feel like a test you were never taught to pass. Many individuals want to work, but have not had access to clear instruction about workplace expectations, communication, or daily routines. Initi8 Ready fills that gap by teaching foundational skills first, so participants feel ready, not rushed.

A Step-by-Step Path to Readiness
Initi8 Ready is a structured, 40-hour program made up of four simple, easy-to-understand courses:
Learn About Work – Understanding what work is, why people work, and what a workday looks like
Practice Work Skills – Practicing listening, teamwork, time management, and asking for help
Get Ready for a Job – Preparing for interviews, work rules, schedules, and first days
Keep Working – Learning how to manage stress, solve problems, and grow at work
Each course builds on the one before it, allowing participants to move forward at their own pace with support when needed.
Designed With the Learner in Mind
Initi8 Ready uses plain language, visual learning tools, real-life examples, and repetition to support understanding. Participants can learn through self-paced lessons or receive additional guidance through coaching support. Families, caregivers, job coaches, and workforce partners can also be involved in the learning process.
Most importantly, Initi8 Ready respects the learner. This program is not about fixing people, it’s about equipping them.
